After a successful marketing endeavour with The No Sugar Company, we were approached again in 2020 to help create content for their growing social media accounts.

In 2019, we were approached by No Sugar Company to help develop and launch their US and Canadian websites. After a successful launch we began to create digital content for Facebook & Instagram. We were also tasked with social media management; we began building an online community and responding to any and all messages sent to the accounts on an hourly basis. Here is how we created visual content for The No Sugar Company. 

We researched No Sugar’s competitors and others in the health-food industry. Then, we examined how they approached their social media, what kind of content they created, what tone they set, and anything else beneficial. In our research, we found that these brands all expressed a happy, colourful and motivational tone across their social media. We also noticed a variety of product photography, videos, memes, and digital graphic art being used. So, we determined what kind of tone and content we could create. From there, we established a few key types of content we would create.

Here are the types of content we created for The No Sugar Company.

Lifestyle Photography

The No Sugar Company wanted us to create content that would establish their brand as a ‘lifestyle brand.’In order to do this, we staged multiple photoshoots and developed hundreds of photos that showcase their product in an array of real-world scenarios. For example, we took photos like these below that showcase how their products are healthy and can be consumed on the go.

Product Photography

The No Sugar Company also wanted us to take some traditional product photography. We staged multiple photoshoots that would show the products in a clean and professional manner.

We also wanted to showcase how the brand was fun and colourful, so also developed these photos below. We wanted to show off our creative ideas as well as showed No Sugar Company’s fun/unique brand in a visual way!

Videography

Our research showed that video is the most effective form of content on Instagram and garners the most engagement, compared to photos and carousels. On August 5th 2020, Instagram launched their answer to TikTok’s rise, Reels, and we decided to capitalize on this new feature. We created multiple Reels that could help tell a story easier than a caption could, and we saw a massive rise in traction on those specific posts. Here are some great examples:

Graphic Design

We also created multiple digital graphics to help promote the brand. We relied heavily on the style guide mentioned above to create on-brand content that would not only be informational but also fun!

The content we created for No Sugar Company has been used and featured in a variety of marketing campaigns, including on the cover of Costco’s Member magazine, Costco Connect, The Shopping Channel, retailer Instagram accounts, and digital ads.
